Dubrovnik is the city of great cultural and creative life. The main highlight of the cultural calendar in Dubrovnik is the 45-day Summer Festival, which sweeps through the city from mid July to late August. The festival includes theatre (Shakespeare, Molière, Držić) and classical music performances as well as folk music events. The opening ceremonial takes place at Stradun and usually includes fireworks too.  Tickets are available on-line at the website.

Also, The Libertas Film Festival  brings eclectic world cinema to various venues in June each year.

Julian Rachlin is one of the most charismatic and exciting violinists of his generation who instantly fell in love with the historical town of Dubrovnik. From then on, a Festival of of Chamber Music Julian Rachlin & friends takes place in September each year in the most beautiful musical stages within the City Walls and it makes Dubrovnik an ultimate music and culture destination on the map of Europe.

Another important event is on the 3rd of February, the Sveti Vlaho Day (Day of St. Blaise) – the patron saint of Dubrovnik.
